Orthodontic Nurses Course
The Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing is a qualification suitable for dental nurses who assist in Orthodontic procedures. This 9 day course (run over 6 months) is not only to enable the participants to pass the Certificate, but to give the knowledge, skills and techniques required to assist with patients receiving orthodontic treatment.
- The Orthodontic Nurses course will cover:
- Anatomy relative to Orthodontics
- Classification relative to malocclusion
- Orthodontic treatment, records and appliances
- Cross-infection in Orthodontics
- Interdisciplinary care• Laboratory skills
- Oral health
- Stock control
- Medico-legal issues and Clinical Governance
- Orthodontic indices
This course will be carried out in a Specialist Practice environment, including an on-site laboratory. Upon completion of the course, participants will be ready for entry to the Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing.
